SEASONAL UPDATE

WELCOME TO ROYAL DECREE!!!

It's finally time for Rosavelle to open its gates - and I couldn't be more excited to welcome everyone to the kingdom! Now everyone's beginning to settle in, it's time for the game's very first Seasonal Update!

Seasonal Updates are a neat and tidy blend of event previews, CR planning, world updates, and AC results - all in one convenient bimonthly post! Typically, this first section will contain any important OOC announcements or updates you'll want to know before diving in.

Event previews and CR planning are exactly what they sound like - they'll outline the upcoming mod-run events and when you can expect them to go live, along with a brief primer on what to expect. You can use the comments to plan out your CR for the season, find event partners, or just brainstorm ways your characters might get involved.

World Updates will usually be the heart of each Seasonal Update. These cover small but notable happenings around Rosavelle - market fairs, seasonal festivals, strange magical phenomena, and any changes within the castle or the city that might affect your characters. The season's weather forecast will also appear here, along with any minor magical or political shifts that help set the tone for the months ahead. In addition, updates marked with a !❤︎! symbol indicate events that will have their own posts!

And lastly, AC results are exactly what they sound like - the wrap-up section for activity checks and any mod notes attached to them!

EVENT PREVIEW

It's been only a short while since your arrival in Rosavelle, and things have been going surprisingly smoothly. But as Their Highness kindly (and a little nervously) explained at the welcoming banquet, there's just one small complication: interdimensional travel is… frowned upon, let's say. But never fear! To keep anyone from asking awkward questions, Callie has come up with a plan! From this moment on, all off-world guests are to pose as visiting nobles from faraway lands, here to lend wisdom and support in the lead-up to their coronation.

Of course, that's a whole lot easier said than done. To make the cover story believable, everyone will spend their first four weeks in Rosavelle living on the castle grounds and undergoing a crash course in noble etiquette, Rosavellan customs, and the finer points of surviving a five-hour banquet without accidentally insulting a duke. Lessons will be held throughout the month, culminating in everyone's first outing to Rosavelle itself - a grand test of grace and charm during the Wilting Festival at month's end.

And who better to oversee this delicate operation than an actual noble from distant lands - Nadeshiko Hanabira-no-Kisaragi, the princess's lady-in-waiting, castle steward, and the human embodiment of no excuses? Her standards are legendarily high, her patience legendarily short, and rumor has it she can detect improper posture from across the room.

Brush up on your bowing, practice your table manners and prepare to learn how to fake nobility like your life (or at least your dignity) depends on it!

WORLD UPDATES

The Season of Wilting drifts gently into Rosavelle, painting the island in warm, fading tones. The air turns brisk but pleasant, carrying the faint sweetness of late blooms and the distant scent of the sea. Early in the season, the days are cool and bright, with leaves turning from green to copper and gold before fluttering down to gather along the streets and canals. As the weeks pass, the change deepens and the flowers that once crowned every bridge and balcony begin to wilt, retreating into their roots to rest. The winds from the Azurite Sea grow sharper, and frost starts to lace the railings and windowsills.

Around halfway through the season, the first snow begins to fall - light at first, dusting rooftops and garden paths, but gradually thickening into a soft, steady rhythm that blankets the island. The canals rarely freeze completely thanks to the island's magic, but the bridges can get icy, so tread carefully...! The skies tend to stay clear, but a few soft snowstorms pass through and by the end of Wilting, the cold reaches its peak. The days are short, the nights come early, and most people tuck themselves into warm taverns and candle-lit shops to escape the chill.

♡ All Season: The castle gardens have officially entered their end-of-year dormancy, but that doesn't mean they're empty! Staff have arranged some displays around the grounds, featuring frost-hardy blooms and enchanted lights. The Amourian Library and Hearthsong Salon are both running "warm corner" reading nooks for guests who want to cozy up with tea and a blanket while it snows outside.

♡ All Mont: Nadeshiko holds daily lessons to make sure the advisors can hold their own when the festival comes around. These will cover noble etiquette, Rosavellan customs and history - and yes, there will be a pop quiz.

♡ November 3rd onwards: The kitchens are testing some new recipes! Guests who stop by the Marigold Dining Room for lunch might get to try a few experimental dishes-root vegetable pies, mulled fruit compotes, and spiced cocoa. Feedback (and requests for seconds) are welcome.

♡ November 7th: The Crownkeepers' horses are restless from the turning weatger, so the stablehands are organizing a short afternoon trot through the castle gardens for anyone who wants to help exercise the steeds - or just feed them sugar cubes.

!❤︎! November 10th: Nadeshiko hosts a study session in the Amourian Library to better assess where the advisors' weak spots as a hroup. Tea and snacks will be provided but be aware that if you spill anything on any of the books, she WILL make it look like an accident.

♡ November 16th: A minor enchantment malfunction in the Radiant Hall's chandeliers has filled the air with drifting sparkles of frostlight. Staff are working on fixing it, but until then, the effect is rather pretty, if a bit slippery underfoot.

♡ November 25th: Small frost sprites have been spotted hiding in the courtyards! The groundskeepers are asking for help coaxing them back toward the greenhouse before they nibble on too many enchanted lanterns. They seem to like singing and crumbs of pastry.

!❤︎! November 29th - 30th: The Wilting Festival has arrived! Midway through the season, Rosavelle fills with a cheerful winter craft market, ice skating, and stalls piled high with food. It's a celebration said to warm up the coming cold months but most importantly, it's where the advisors will have their first outing to Rosavelle itself, under Callie and Nadeshiko's supervision. You're encouraged to enjoy yourselves but don't forget that this is the test of how well you can blend in with the locals. No pressure!

♡ December 1st: The first substantial snowfall of the season dusted the castle's balconies this morning! Servants have already swept the Radiant Hall's steps, but the lawns are fair game-snowman-building and snowball fights are officially underway.

♡ December 9th – 12th: The Thistle & Thorn Pub in Marelys hosts its annual end of year celebration. Fisherfolk bring in the last big catches before the colder waters set in, and the kitchen turns them into rich chowders and seafood pies. Artists from Primavain play in the evenings; it's one of the rowdiest, happiest events of the season.

♡ December 16th: The forge's heat charms are running strong, and the Emberlight smiths are holding an open workshop for anyone wanting to make small trinkets or charms to keep their hands warm. Don't worry, apprentices will make sure you don't accidentally weld your sleeves to the anvil!

♡ December 22nd: The Moonpetal Conservatory's night-blooming flowers are expected to open tonight! The conservatory will stay open late for anyone who wants to watch the petals unfurl under Calyx's glow.

♡ December 25th: Marigold Hall hosts a "Make & Mend Festival." Citizens bring in worn or broken belongings to repair under the guidance of local craftspeople. It's not just practical - the act of mending something dear is thought to invite good fortune into the coming Fallow.

♡ December 27th – 31st: The Lapis Lookout Lantern Walk. Families and friends make the climb to hang wind chimes and lanterns for the ships soon to return to harbor for the new year. The view is breathtaking, and it's said that if your lantern's flame stays steady, your love will too.

About: She's from the end of the season, is a nervous anxious wreck of a person, and is canonly known by the title Ultimate Nurse! Capable of such feats as autopsies, minor surgeries, and being able to tell at a glance if you're feeling ill and with what illness/the best treatment!

She's got no self-esteem and tends to say worrying things......a lot.... such as encouraging people to use her as target practice, cut her hair, hit her, etc. if it'll make them feel better. She thinks that if people aren't bullying her, it means they hate her.... I'm sorry in advance.

She's also done some...pretty hideously terrible things in canon but like. It's fine. She's remorseful and seeking atonement now don't worrryyy about ittt.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: Mostly looking for Mikan to make friends who can help her be a bit more comfortable, give her support, and maybe not judge her too harshly for the uhh everything in her past.

She'll likely be hanging around in an infirmary area or wherever sick/injured people are to be useful and feel more at home, but will be easily coaxed out to explore around and try to get used to the cold again since she just came from a tropical island.

And also trying her hardest to stay away from Nadeshiko because Nadeshiko will murder Mikan dead she can NOT try to represent anything noble. Please help Mikan, otherwise Nadeshiko will rage, Mikan will cry, and everyone will feel awkward about it.

Also please expect Mikan to slip and fall often around the 16th with the slippery floors. Please also expect lots of panty shots or mikan somehow falling into improbable sexy positions, like she falls and somehow cream from a nearby cake falls on her chest/face and the cords of a curtain tie her up in a BDSM pose. It's a canon event, i can not interfere. Just rescue her and ignore it.

About: Ranma here is a martial artist who trained all his life before he even began walking, and is a walking disaster zone with a penchant of attracting chaos and weirdness wherever he goes. Probably less prevalent here but. Give it like five days, he'll have someone wanting to put him through several walls. It's easy to want to, as Ranma is full of pride to the nth degree, understands social cues as well as a brick wall does, blunt as a bowling ball falling on your head and tactful as a running chainsaw. On top of that, he's got a knack for being a cheeky little shit who can and will tease you over this and that if he thinks you deserve ribbing.

He's also a fairly chill dude when he isn't being insulted or slighted, and holds a strong code of honor as a martial artist to protect the weak and defenseless.

Thanks to falling into a magical hot spring, Ranma's stuck with a curse that makes him change from boy to girl whenever cold water's dumped on him, and back to boy when hot water's applied. To his chagrin... while simultaneously using his curse to his benefits and isn't above using it to mess with people.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: First and foremost, CR. I'd love for Ranma to make friends with people who don't want to take his head off his shoulders, though of course I also love CR with people who will snark back with him. And I'll never say no to rivalries and enemies!!!

Ranma himself will mostly be around Rosavelle and the castle, doing his own things. Like training, helping out people and in general trying to earn his keep since staying at a big fancy castle for free is weird to him. He'll also be looking for people to spar with in the meantime, since outside of one certain tomboy, none of his usual sparring partners are here.

He's going to be in misery throughout the entire etiquette training. It might not be as horrific as the one he went through the Martial Arts Dining arc (he never wants to see the inside of another person's mouth that up close again), but it's still going to be torture for him. At this time, his curse might get revealed publicly because comedy.

Speaking of the curse, Ranma might look into the magic here to see if he can't remove or better control it. I'm taking Ranma from the end of the manga, where while he does tolerate his curse, he's never accepted it and still wants it gone. I would also like people to help him out with realizing his curse isn't that bad, because the time period he came from... doesn't have the best understanding or kindest view on concepts like gender identity and what not, so being in a setting where his curse won't be seen as weird or wrong could be helpful.

Fortunately, there's never a shortage of distractions to keep the Despair Demons at bay.

One more thing: he's a pro at hiding what he's really thinking and feeling. If you like the challenge of peeling back layers, then you'll have fun with this one.

Verso and his best friend Monoco are launching a matchmaking service — regular mingles, events, and fancy parties, plus Monoco-led battle training for anyone who wants to better defend their loved ones from rivals, muahahah.

What I'm looking for:

- People for Verso to help. Whether that's bringing them out of their shell, helping them learn the local customs, giving them courage to try something new or scary, anything goes.

- Non-human or other "outlier" CR. He's instinctively more at ease around those on the fringes... partly because he hasn't fit into "normal" human society for decades, so Rosavelle is a big adjustment for him too.

- Old souls to vibe with.

- Brainrot hours with the homies. He's always game for a bit of foolishness and glorified dumbassery.

About: Archer/Emiya is an exceptionally jaded, tall and brooding fellow who can and will be prickly and snarky towards most anyone who comes close without his say-so, not because he's a genuinely harsh person but because he's been working for the past ten thousand years non-stop without ceasing at a job that violates each and every one of his moral beliefs and wishes. Needless to say, the period of rudeness will be brief as he acclimates to talking to people who he doesn't need to plan to kill on a regular basis but he'll still be critical of every strange decision he witnesses.

Open up the box and get to know him and you'll be sorely... exhausted. He's a many-words-boy who enjoys beating people over the head with facts and critiques until you regret getting him to act like a person again.

He's most famous for being a prolific housekeeper and cook who takes care of people who can't manage on their own(They know their names and titles). Lesser-known accolades include: saving the world, humanitarian work, and brokering peace between nations.

This is the most important and borderline impossible mission to accomplish for him because of a myriad of psychological restraints he's placed on himself in life so I'm looking forward to seeing that happen in the future after he spends ages 'pretending' to enjoy himself around others.

I’d just like it on record that, while Kanade looks good in formal wear, training her in actual etiquette is a hellish experience, and Kanade is on death’s door after a single lesson. Possibly also terrified of Nadeshiko.

Okay so Darin is going to hate this. Hate it. Absolutely hate it. And he is going to be as uncooperative as possible. What sort of punishments should he expect?

That said, Darin is industrious to a fault. Aside from the stables, are there any places where a master smith/masquerading noble can get his hands suitably dirty?

Introduction: Oh god. I'm one of the real newbies here. this is my first time in a shipping game and like... my THIRD game? Ever? I've only been in DWRP a little under a year. PST.

Character Name: Akane Tendo
Canon: Ranma 1/2

About: A talented martial artist who trained from nearly the time she could talk and throw punches at the same time, Akane has been helping protect her schools and neighborhood since elementary school-- and her tomboy nature has been known for just as long.

While she's less of a walking disaster area than some other people she could mention in this CR request, she nevertheless can leave a trail of the beaten and broken in her wake and isn't afraid to do so. Her hands are rated E for Everyone, and given the environment she grew up in, it's kind of hard to blame her.

Regardless of that, if you avoid the sore spots of her lack of feminine skills, or her tendency to act first and think maybe later, she's a pleasant person to talk to, and she's perfectly willing to help teach or learn the martial arts basically whenever.

Most importantly, her canon point is wildly different than this Ranma's-- taking place not long after one of the larger and more serious arcs in the series, and a real nadir for their relationship in general... since Akane was ready to accept her own feelings, and acts like it afterwards for the rest of the series, but Ranma extremely was not.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: This girl grew up in 80's Japan, where being gay is Just Not Mentioned In Front Of Children, never mind the cultural thing with S class or a dozen other things means that her understanding of sex and gender is extremely limited. While she's canonically bisexual (lucky her!), most of the women in her life want to kill her, and this has pretty much removed them from the running on her attractiveness scale.

In short, Akane desperately needs a bisexual wake-up call in the next month or so, though drilling through the internalized homophobia instilled by 80's japan is going to be a Task.

Her average day is probably going to be taken up with treating the etiquette classes like she does high school, taking notes and arriving in goddamned uniform of all things, and taking wild runs across the island and making up her own bricks to break for focus practice if no one stops her. She'll also be working on her Bloomcraft, with an eye towards her natural Elementalism and, of all things, Infusion. (Warning: her cooking is still Pretty Bad, but canon's shown that she'll get better with genuine teaching and encouragement.)

About: Darin is your basic JRPG/Shounen hot-blooded protagonist. On the surface, he might seem like an impulsive, hot-headed idiot mostly because he is. But all of that is just a mask of bravado hiding the fact that he has some really deep trauma regarding his powers which stem from a demonic god prophesied to destroy his world. At his core, he's a good-natured man with a heart of a hero, but a lifetime of being told he was a monster has left him believing he's not worth anything. Here's an info post!

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: Short Term: Let's face it, Darin's getting thrown in the dungeon in the first week. The first hour, maybe.

Beyond that, I'm here for it all. Settling in, making friends. I'd love for people to start to question him. Start to peel back the layers of his brashness and arrogance and get him to maybe open up about his powers. He's afraid he'll be branded a monster but if push came to shove, he'd use his powers to help someone.

About: Heel-face turn witch who turns out to have been on the heroes' side the entire time (what a twist!). Likes cats, peace and quiet, and the cold. Big hat with a crown on it. She's terrible at socializing due to her specific type of magic being ostracized in witch society and humans distrusting all witches by nature despite the 4000 year peace they've had with them. At her canon point, she and the heroes have just beaten the Big Bad and his Mom and are celebrating peace once more.

Fatima, however, has answered a mysterious letter's summons instead of following through with teaching magic at the Rev Academy.

Plans/Wishes

Long Term: One of Fatima's biggest goals will be to (attempt) to get a place of her own/an atelier where she can practice her magic and potentially make a living off of it. She's allergic to doing things when it's not on her own terms, and being in the refurbished barracks will make her feel closed-in.

These are just some food for thought for her general trajectory. I'm open and amenable to any other plans! Naturally, I'll be tagging out on logs that come up.
