SEASONAL UPDATE

It's hard to believe we're already here, but welcome to Royal Decree's second Seasonal Update! First and foremost, thank you all so much for the enthusiasm you've brought to the game so far. Watching everyone settle into Rosavelle has been a blast and we hope you've been having just as much fun as we have!

There's not so much on the OOC front this update but there are a few bits of housekeeping we want to make sure everyone's aware of:

♡ The lower age cap for appable characters has been lowered from 17 to 16 and wording across all pages has been updated to reflect this - if you catch anywhere I missed, please let me know!
♡ The IC FAQ now has an entry outlining a new arrival's experience in Rosavelle for characters who apped in post-game opening.
♡ Some wording on the various FAQs across the board has been updated to provide additional clarity
♡ Quests on the Quest Board now have the exact date of their duration listed as opposed to the quest duration

EVENT PREVIEW

It's been a full Season since your arrival in Rosavelle and somehow - against all odds - things are still going... well? Now that the Wilting Festival is behind you, you're starting to find that you're you're no longer just guests - people greet you by name, shopkeepers remember your usual order and somewhere along the line, you started to maybe feel like you belong. And as Callie noted with visible relief over tea, nobody's even been thrown in the dungeon (yet)! Nadeshiko, for her part, remains vigilant. Etiquette lessons continue but she seems... almost satisfied? Don't get used to it.

Midway through the season comes Budwake, a week-long, kingdom-wide ritual marking the first soft thaw of the soil. Fields are tilled, flowerbeds cleared, tools repaired and blessed for the coming warmth. Everyone is expected to lend a hand and while there's plenty to do on the castle grounds, Callie and Nadeshiko strongly encourage the advisors to head into Rosavelle itself. It's muddy, it's cold, it's exhausting and it's one of the most important communal traditions the kingdom has. Consider it another practical exam in being part of Rosavelle's community.

In between all this busywork, though, some a few sharp-eyed advisors might notice something odd. The princess has started vanishing more often - slipping away to the Hall of Sovereigns, lingering for hours in the Amourian Library. They seem focused. Intent. Almost secretive. Which is... unusual, given Callie already knows Rosavelle's history better than most living scholars. So what are they looking for? And why now?

WORLD UPDATES

When Fallow fully arrives, the blustery winds and swirling snow of Wilting seem to hush all at once and what remains is a serene, crystalline stillness. Every non-evergreen plant has tucked itself into a deep slumber, conserving strength for the next season and waiting patiently for their time to bloom again. This deep into the cold season, snow rarely falls but frost paints everything it can touch, freezing the grounds and making the canals slow with thick ice. The wind coming in from the Azurite Sea is sharp enough to sting and on some mornings even the bravest islanders hesitate at their doorways before stepping out.

As the weeks move on though, Fallow begins to soften. The cold eases bit by bit and midway through the season the ice loosens its grip as a great thaw passes over the kingdom. Unfortunately, this leaves things a lot wetter and a lot more slippery than you're used to, but it's a fair trade off - the first hints of green begin to peek through what little remains of the frost and during the final few days of the season, a few eager flowers begin popping open. Budding isn't far behind, and you can feel it stirring.

♡ All Season: The castle gardens have officially entered their end-of-year dormancy, but that doesn't mean they're empty! Staff have arranged some displays around the grounds, featuring frost-hardy blooms and enchanted lights. The Amourian Library and Hearthsong Salon are both running "warm corner" reading nooks for guests who want to cozy up with tea and a blanket while it snows outside.

♡ All Month: The Marelys hot springs have begun their yearly seasonal shift: the steam now shimmers with changing colors and iridescent petals float lazily on the water. Locals swear it's perfectly normal for Fallow but anyone who lingers too close gets swept up in mood-misting enchantments. Bathers and bystanders alike may find themselves suddenly giggly, unexpectedly sentimental, or lost in deep contemplation.

♡ December 31st - January 1st: Primavain's central square is packed tonight as a brilliant meteor shower lights up the sky. Locals crowd balconies and stoops, sipping spiced cocoa and nibbling seasonal pastries. Rumor has it that if you and a friend hold a jar or cup at just the right angle as the meteors pass, you can "catch" a tiny fragment of falling starlight said to bring good luck for the coming months. True or not, the thrill of trying is half the fun.

♡ January 1st - 31st: Many sellers across the Floating Basket are offering "clear-the-hold" discounts on preserved winter goods - pickled fruits, smoked fish, crystallized petals and soups-in-a-jar meant to get everyone through the last stretch of cold.

♡ January 5th: Fisherfolk in Marelys are baffled: frost crabs - normally dormant until later in the season - have woken early and begun scuttling all over the wharf. Harmless but wildly mischievous, they've developed a taste for shiny objects and have stolen hairpins, rings, lanterns and even a few fruit baskets. A daytime recovery crew is returning trinkets to their rightful owners, while a late-night round-up is forming with lanterns, nets and bribery snacks.

♡ January 15th: Canalstar Outfitters debuts its Almost Budding line: lighter cloaks, adjustable rainwear and boots enchanted to handle both frost and mud. Perfect timing!

♡ January 26th - 31st: Doctor Lavande is making extra rounds this week, offering free check-ups for anyone planning to work Budwake labor. They are extremely clear that throwing your back out by overdoing it is not heroic, actually.

!❤︎! February 1st - February 10th: Budwake officially begins! Across Rosavelle, fields are tilled, flowerbeds turned, canalside planters cleared and greenhouses aired out. It's muddy, exhausting work - and somehow, everyone's smiling about it.

♡ February 1st - 10th: The castle kitchens begin stockpiling easy-to-transport meals for Budwake volunteers heading out into Rosavelle. Soup, breads, hand pies and magically insulated flasks are everywhere and any extra hands to help lighten the load are much appreciated.

♡ February 5th: The Amber Knot debuts their Budwake Loaf - dense, hearty bread meant to be eaten outdoors with dirty hands. Buying two gets you a third "for whoever's working beside you."

♡ February 10th onwards: Marigold Hall opens its doors for Repair Days. Farming tools, gardening equipment and boots worn thin by Budwake labor are fixed, patched, polished, or lovingly Frankensteined back together. No payment required, just your patience.

!❤︎! February 11th: Budwake is finally complete! And to celebrate everyone's hard work, it's time for the After-Till Feast! In both the castle kitchens and community halls across Rosavelle, cooks declare it time to eat everything. Soups, stews, pies, fritters and casseroles made from odds, ends and "this will go bad if we don't use it tonight" ingredients are the dish of the day. The advisors have been invited to enjoy the event down in Rosavelle but there's lots of tasty food to be enjoyed up at the castle, too.

♡ February 11th - 17th: Doctor Lavande is making extra rounds through Menthward's canals, checking in on sore backs, overworked hands and people who definitely lifted more than they should have during Budwake. Advice, scolding and herbal remedies are plentiful.

♡ February 23rd: Printemps Boutique announces that clothing commissions for the Season of Ripening are now open. For those who just want something right off the rack, fabrics are still warm and layered but hints of pastel threads and floral embroidery are beginning to appear in the windows.

♡ February 28th - March 3rd: A low tide reveals unusual growth along Coraline Strand - tiny glowing shoots clinging to stones and driftwood. Artists and botanists alike gather to sketch and speculate before the tide claims them again.

♡ February 29th: A soft rain falls overnight, washing the frost from rooftops and bridges. By morning, Rosavelle smells unmistakably like damp earth and flowers-to-come. Budding is just around the corner...!

Okay so. Tsukasa, being surprisingly observant and also a frequenter of the library herself, will very quickly pick up that Callie is Doing A Weird, and decide to investigate. Since she's Tsukasa, her first impulse will be to do this by very unsubtly following them around, trying to read over their shoulder, etc. Will she learn anything of interest before someone tells her to knock it off?

Introduction: FYI JANUARY'S PROBABLY GOING TO SUCK FOR TAGS FROM ME due to day job things. Sob. But I am going to do my best!! I still want plotty things to look forward to once that particular brand of hell is over with (for the year, anyway). Here's my permissions/playstyle info post for reference.

Anyway hi I am a Sora (there are multiple Soras in DWRP but only one with an extremely twee full name, probably) and this is going to be the first game I've been in since Interstellar (which was...WAIT WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT WAS BASICALLY A DECADE AGO). Tales of Graces has been my main brainrot for the past several years, but Cheria isn't even actually my top blorbo from that game (that would go to Hubert and his dumb cousin Raymond, both of whom I can't app to games for different reasons). I properly got into DWRP (well, LJRP at the time) with Pao-Lin from Tiger & Bunny, and my two other main fandoms are Bomberman and Golden Sun. More casual fandoms include Black Lagoon, Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Symphonia, Zelda, Mario, Hollow Knight, ATLA/LoK, The Dragon Prince...idk a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I've been pretty diehard on my Elite Four (fandoms) over the years, pfft.

About: Sickly Child Grew Up Strong. That's it, I got nothing else.

...okay no uhhh she's a kind and sensitive girl from fantasy JRPG world who is her party's token healer and Team Mom. That being said please don't make her mad, she canonically gets into a fight (as in, one-on-one duel where you're controlling Cheria) with one of the other girls in her party because said girl refuses to take a bath for the umpteenth time (it's a Problem). But surely no one in this dreamy fairytale kingdom could possibly get on her nerves like that, right.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: I keep on saying it everywhere I talk about having Cheria in this game to the point that it's probably annoying but PLEASE LET CHERIA HELP Y'ALL'S CHARACTERS WITH YOUR HEAS!!! Let her give pep talks, let her be a listening ear, let her cook/bake tasty things to heal lovesick hearts or celebrate that first kiss, let her help engineer Totally Real and Not At All Contrived situation to get characters alone, whatever! She loves this shit and everyone in her canon thinks she's bent in the brainpan for it (though to be fair, she keeps getting in the way of her own HEA and everyone can see it except the guy she's got the hots for, so she's a pretty little hypocrite). Finally, her time has come...!

On a less unhinged note, debating how much Cheria's going to learn Bloomcraft! I think something would have to come up where maybe someone introduces her to it (not sure how they learn about this ICly?) and then later on maybe there's a scenario where using Bloomcraft would clearly help out another character somehow. I guess??? Leaning strongly towards infusery and floriomancy for her, with maybe a side of imprintwork. I don't know that she'd really master any of it unless — again — she needed to do so in order to help out someone else.

And to address the protag-shaped elephant in the room: obviously there's space for characters to help Cheria process her own feelings about the guy she loves! I...just haven't quite figured out what direction I want to go with that, and it's something that could be done in almost any other setting/medium, whereas RD has such a unique setup for her to meddle in other people's love lives to her heart's content (and which won't require me to, frex, make up multiple OCs in a fanfic or whatever). So my preference (albeit a flexible one) is to lean more into helping to ship other characters rather than shipping Cheria with anyone. Which is an interesting position to be in!

Canon: My S-Class Hunters

About: What you see: an average-seeming 25-year-old from present-day South Korea, a friendly and supportive big brother-type with pluck and cleverness in spades. He's great with kids. He loves cute animals. Yoojin will tell you he raises baby monsters and isn't built for the front-line fighting that happens in his world, and all of this is true.

What you actually get: a traumatized, desperate survivalist who can power others up with the words "I love you." A man driven by guilt and the terror of loss to do what's insane and impossible. Someone who has killed and will kill again. A self-described "expert in kidnapping." Yoojin will do whatever it takes to ensure his loved ones survive the ongoing invasion of his Earth, no matter how weird his idea, and no matter what it does to him, personally.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: I'm actually coming to the table with a couple ideas this season!

1) In January, Yoojin is going to be asking folks learning Meramancy (or other persuasive-type powers) about how it works, not because he's interested in learning that branch of Bloomcraft himself, but because he's trying to unravel something that was cast on him before he got here. Anyone who agrees will get a cute, hand-felted animal of their choice from him! Anyone who additionally agrees to let him use a skill to piggyback on their senses while they use their Meramancy/other power may be eligible for greater rewards.

2) February 7th is Yoojin's birthday! Whiiiccchhh he won't be telling anyone unless, for some reason, they ask him directly. There's enough going on during Budwake, he doesn't need to take any focus away from that. But now YOU all know. :)

Otherwise, on my docket I've got:
- Helping train anyone who wants to make use of his growth buffs or other skills
- Continuing his own physical training with Cindy and Bulat
- Hopefully... getting closer... to maybe acknowledging he like-likes Bulat? MAYBE.
- Being generally available as a friend and/or Caring Adult for everyone Going Through It
- Probably hurting himself through Budwake-related overwork. Maybe for his birthday. That's about how his luck goes.

He can see your soul and communicate with spirits. Might be slightly part dragon, but he doesn't know much about that. Carries around some finely aged failed savior baggage from his infancy. He's a really good kid, genuinely, and basically acts like everyone's grandson or little bro... but if they get too attached to him, he'll break their heart I promise. :)

And so, fellow Royal Advisors will find that he's actually kinda hard to track down and hang out with, despite how friendly and helpful he always tries to be when he is present. For all kinds of reasons, past and present, he's used to going it alone.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes:
CR that works fabulously for Ororon includes, but is not limited to:

BUDWAKE WILL BECOME HIS LIFE from start to finish, but this is actually way more work than he is accustomed to, because his own garden is very small and does not experience winter at all. he might pass out because he's kind of a dummy about keeping himself safe.
  
• victims taste-testers for his Infusery experiments. this aspect of Bloomcraft is similar to the magic he does at home and he's willing to be adventurous about playing around with effects. and besides that, he's a pretty good cook! (ask about the ceviche)

About: Charming, quietly funny man from a tragic French game seeks company and good conversation. God won't let him die, and he has a lot of feelings about it.

Verso's naturally empathetic, creative, and attuned to others. But after a 100+ years of existential anguish, surviving a post‑apocalyptic nightmare, and burying people he still blames himself for, he's... tired.

More with COE33 spoilers...

He is a startlingly accurate copy of the Dessendre family's deceased son, made to fill the emotional void left by the original Verso, who sacrificed himself to save his little sister. This "painted" Verso has all the original's memories, feelings, and love for his complex family — both the "real" versions and the "fake" family created for him. He's been called his creator's "finest work".

However, trying to replace someone as beloved as the original Verso set him up for failure from the start. He sees Aline Dessendre as his mother but fully understands that he is not really her son. He is basically a failed therapy doll.

After 67 years of trying to help Aline, and finally succeeding at a terrible cost, he now feels unsure about what to do next, or even if he should continue to exist.

He tells people he is in Rosavelle because he agreed to help Callie, even though he was initially doubtful about the invitation. What he doesn't say is that he's avoiding facing his younger sister Alicia back home. He fears she has disowned him for letting their father die, and he wants to delay letting Alicia's "real" counterpart talk to her as long as possible because he's worried about how it'll make her feel.

He wonders if Callie realizes they got the bargain bin copy of a dead man, instead of the "real" one. At this point, he's kind of afraid to ask.

Good luck getting him to talk about this. He feels like an imposter and keeps how deeply he struggles to himself.

Age & Romance Preferences:

- Age: 100-ish (physically in his early 30s, yes he knows he looks older 😭)
- Orientation: bisexual (m/f, m/m)
- Romance: Available for meaningful romances with humans and non‑humans alike. He has an IC interest in casual encounters if the other person initiates. Now that he has lots of time to get to know people, though, it could potentially lead into a nice slow burn. Verso catches feelings for people a lot easier than he likes to admit, tbh.

Note: I'm mostly going off vibes. That said, partners 25+ preferred. 21+ possible if it makes narrative sense for CR. Verso has an unconventional relationship with Monoco, his best friend and moral support funky puppet monkey man who is equal parts dapper gentleman and chaos gremlin. So, anyone who gets involved with Verso should be prepared for that lmao

♨️ The Marelys hot springs! Marelys is Verso's favorite district, and any excuse to make him giggly, sentimental or contemplative is good in my book.

Looking for: Chances to deepen current CR using this idea, but I'm also open to ways Verso might connect with new characters here.

🎁 Verso's birthday is on February 22. This year, for the first time, he and Monoco will celebrate with a big, beautiful pink and blue cake and champagne. Verso won't tell anyone it's his birthday. He'll just say that you deserve cake, and you shouldn't have to wait in line for a piece. (Or maybe they'll say they're celebrating ALL the February birthdays? Make it a monthly thing??)

Looking for: People who can help organize a fun "unbirthday" party with cake, treats, and drinks.

Note: Around this time, he'll begin thinking seriously about hosting more mingles as part of a matchmaking service with Monoco. He will probably spend more time researching ideas for it in the library. I'm not looking for anything specific yet, just documenting it for now.

About: Artist; draws for a music circle that's been operating for a couple years, and sometimes sings as part of it. Pleasant enough but has a short fuse and gets very argumentative; has a tendency to let her mouth get ahead of her and regret it later. Through hard work and a small crush, has gotten onto a more normal schedule, and she's working out to try and get a little more physically fit. Hums and sings when she doesn't think anyone is watching, or when only people she trusts are watching and she's relaxed enough. Once you've gotten through her prickly exterior, caring and will fight for you with everything she has. Jaded after several years of being beaten down over her lack of artistic talent, but improving enough that she's starting to believe it herself. Working hard on Bloomcraft and training a variety of disciplines; it's balancing a bit of a chip on her shoulder.

If you catch her on a good day, Ena's easy to talk to, but if you make her mad - or if she's already mad - she can be a lot to deal with, and she's got a lot of snark in her. But she can be worn down with reasonable arguments and she's not one to kick puppies. She'll take a bit of time to warm up to you, but once she has, she'll make a point to notice you in a crowd.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: Miraculously, Ena survived Nadeshiko's training from Hell and made a decent enough impression on the populace to earn a continued place in the castle! Will wonders never cease. Unfortunately, she suffered a bit of a setback in the form of crushing homesickness the last week of December, so she's coming off a bit of a down week. Please be patient with her and/or help take her mind off things. She's certainly going to be helping with that of her own accord, because she's got Things To Do - one or two special projects, of course, her usual Bloomcraft training, physical fitness training atop that, art practice, and she. Really needs to start making an honest effort to make real friends... because at the rate she's going, she's going to have put up a better wall than her famously walled-off lyricist ever did, and knowing that will kill her inside, so she's going to be trying to let herself not save face as much, and make better connections. And amid all that, she's heard rumblings of a Grand Plan involving Their Highness... why does she have a feeling she's going to get dragged into that somehow? maybe also make her take a break at some point

If you're looking to practice your Bloomcraft, Ena is training almost everything: Bibliomancy near the Everbloom working on her painting and rarely elsewhere; Elementalism, uh, see below; Imprintwork in the forge on occasion and at Marigold Hall fixing plushies and restoring tools; and Meramancy as she continues to bring her circle's music to Rosavelle. She'll be happy to give pointers if asked on the disciplines she's practiced with, although she doesn't quite subscribe to the adage that there are no stupid questions.

Ena will be heading into Primavain on this last day of Wilting to try to catch a falling star; once she hears the rumor in town about the Marelys hot springs, she's going to spend some time there all through Fallow, because it's too damn cold in this kingdom this time of year, and her scarf is great but it can only do so much! But tragedy will strike on the 5th: Ena's precious charm bracelet will go missing, and she's going to be storming back into Marelys with violence on her mind (and be just barely calmed out of it) and won't rest until she retrieves it from the crustacean menace, singing a sweet promise of death all the while... and maybe taking the chance to learn to throw fire. Once she hears about the leadup to Budwake, she'll feel a little obligated to help out, and that'll lead her to lean into the preparations - picking up a new cloak and boots, going in for a checkup, and then Getting To Work, mostly helping with plant cleanup: she's stronger, but not that strong still, and it'll be a struggle, but one that'll make her feel accomplished... and like she's actually growing. Late February she'll hit up Printemps to see about a new outfit, which she will promptly not wear into the Strand to sketch all the next week.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: Tsukasa wasn't very present for the past month or so due to RL circumstances, which means she's fallen behind on her plan to show off to everyone what a super cool elite intel agent she is and also work on being maybe a little better at that. I'm meanwhile making progress on my plan to have people unlock her tragic backstory, but there's definitely still more to go. It's hard to say whether I've made any progress on my other plan to have her do some girl-smooching.

Short Term: A handful of people have begun to drag the truth about the nature of his powers and Darin's hangups with wanting to develop and use them. I would love for more people to take an interest in/drag those things out kicking and screaming. I'm really digging my teeth into the bloomcraft stuff as well. Also? Anyone hitting on him or finding him attractive is such a foreign concept to him as he's used to people shying away from him because of his blue hair, which is something not-so-great where he comes from! If you make a pass at him, expect him to either not register it or be absolutely confused because why?? Would you ever???

Long Term: Darin is weirdly fascinated by this whole rite of ascension that the Princess seems to be struggling with and he's snooping heavily. He is absolutely going to be arrested at some point and I'm kind of shocked he hasn't been already. Beyond that, I would love for some shenanigans, thirsty or otherwise, some rivalries, and maybe someone dragging out some of that awful power of his. I'm flexible and love to work with any ideas people bring to the table.

He isn't actually an overdoing it guy despite the macho vibes, he's aware of his limits and will only go past them if it's, say, to stop someone from knocking in the roof of a tavern, Monoco.

- Meramancy practice! He's worked out that his illusions work best with an audience and live emotions to work off of. Given that his career involves a lot of lurking around and surprise attacks, this leads to a certain mindset. If you want some driveby shoujo bubbles or other background effects appearing in a thread with someone else, I am on tap for him to do this.

- Art practice! Just because he's not focusing on Imprintwork doesn't mean he can't enjoy honing a skill. He might ask someone to model, or he might do a quick sketch of something interesting that happened in someone else's thread and then expand it into a painting.

- I hear we're getting strip dueling in the quests later? He'll do it, he loves swords and losing his shirt. He'll go in intending to play to flirt but there are decent odds that he'll get fired up by a good fight and end up playing to win.

Corrin didn't get any quests done last season and that's something I want to change going forward so she has time to properly enjoy that Bellvine estate of hers. She is pretty friendly, fun and flirtatious for the most part, acts with a lot of confidence despite her upbringing and can also be very reckless acting first then asking questions later but look this is what happens when she doesn't have much real life experience with a lot of things.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes:

Octavia has been all over the place with trying to settle in. She is still finding her footing with interacting with others and being social, doing normal things and genuinely making friends?? for the first time because being a second child is such a unique thing in that the laws implied she doesn't belong / fit in so it is something she very much struggles with both back home and here too ( more so because she got into a heated argument with her brother in which he told her she ruined his life for being born 🙃) Despite that though, she is very obviously so eager to mingle, flirt and learn to do all things given all that she's lacking from being locked up most of her life while in space and everything that is post apocalyptic earth. There is so much she had never heard of or seen and only vaguely knows of through stories and lowkey she is a mythology nerd which she will absolutely blame on her brother who would read her stories about it while growing up.

I definitely want to build more on her friendships, maybe flirt more with people, get some mentors figures, talk more with people who know what it's like to have a sibling? (because what do you mean other people have them! it will never not be super weird for her), people to adopt her, someone teaching her to fight ( it's something she is super interested in and does later in canon anyway as she becomes a badass warrior but deviating from that to learn from people through cross canon cr would be interesting) and because she finds it so fascinating, she will try to dip her toes into trying out Bloomcraft so anyone wanting to train/mentor her through that, please help a girl out... she will probably want to try to attempt all of them.

I pretty much open for everything for CR, not just limited to the above. For this season in particular, I have a couple ideas:

→ Holidays/celebration are still a new concept for Octavia. Christmas is a thing she just learned about and obviously there wasn't that much fuss for the New Year but she will absolutely be checking out the meteor shower and catch a piece of starlight. look she may hate space due to her upbringing but she lowkey thinks this is cool.
→ Hot Springs time! She can't swim to save her life but this will definitely appeal to her and be something she would want to try and experience.
→ More quests!! I wasn't able to nearly do as much with this last season so I am down to do more of these if anyone wants to team up with her to build and/or kickstart some cr.

Coming from a canon point where she's reached her Peak (an actual thing) and is Unsure of her place in things there's plenty of introspection and conflict in this here uma. Also her eyes are literally indestructible, this can be used constantly for turning a heavy moment into cartoon comedy.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: Im going to be entirely honest playing Gold Ship is 150% vibe based for me. The second I stopped trying to make plans for her is the second she really took off on things. So this is gonna be vague

She's in a complete emotional crashout era because she has once again Fumbled by not telling someone how she felt and it's turning into some delicious internalized anger so there's that. Currently as a result of this she's not even staying in the Geranium barrack, she's been sleeping in the hayloft at the castle stables. She's fine.

Speaking of stables you can find her there or out on the grounds most days working with the horses. She's adopted them as "Team Spica Isekai Division: Four Legged Corps" and has been helping in their training and care. Turns out she's a natural at it, go figure. She's also made a little in door gym for everyone to make use of, it's in an old armory building outside the barracks buildings.

She's going hard into meramancy since the potential it has for both concert work and pranks is very tempting. Once elementalism becomes available I figure she'll charge into that in an attempt to surpass her Peak.

⭐ In the short term, Ai's going to be helping out during the Budwake by delivering meals and supplies to the other volunteers and helping out with the gardening here and there where she can. She'll also be at the meteor shower at the start of the Season. Other than that, she's been taking cooking lessons from & generally hanging out with Archer, tentatively doing some of her usual training at Golshi's new fitness setup and making her room at the Forget-me-not barracks nice and cozy, so if any of that is stuff your characters are doing, they're probably familiar in passing.
⭐ Long term, I'd like her to start connecting with more people! Ai's instincts are to cultivate a lot of relationships that are warm and pleasant but pretty surface level and I'd like that to eventually be reflected in her comparatively sparse Bloom Bond flowerbed for nosy types to pick up on. Maybe eventually picking up some Bloomcraft, too? Her forays into cooking turning into accidental Infusery could be fun but I'd be interested in her dabbling in Meramancy eventually too.

About: Sassy elf rogue who is STILL trying to hide the fact that he's actually a vampire. He puts on an act of being debaucherous and flirty because he spent centuries being forced to lure people back to his master by using his body. In actuality he is a deeply traumatized abuse victim motivated primarily by fear and survival. Personality wise he is a sarcastic little bitch and sometimes a grumpypants. Also UNDENIABLY queer. WILL call you darling and dear in both neutral, affectionate and condescending flavours. When he gets to actually drop his facade he's actually a big dork and softer than you'd expect. He has been in charmer mode since getting here but that's starting to change. Does all his own embroidery and mending.

Astarion currently has a thing going on with Venus that he is still figuring out. Right now he doesn't really know what it is he's got with her, but he's been staying in her room for the most part and sharing a bed with her in a completely non-sexual way. Which is doing a lot for him. Pretty soon I think he's going to realize he's fallen for her, though how long it takes for him to actually do anything about that and act on it is another matter. He is a tsundere who can't remember ever actually being in a relationship and more baggage than an airport luggage claim after all.

So I've been thinking it might be worthwhile to start heading in a direction of other characters noticing the stuff going on between these two (like Astarion acting so noticeably different towards her than he does with other people) and maybe trying to "help". Idk. He will probably be stubborn and in denial even if directly asked but it could be cute!! This can be as genuine or disastrous and stupid as you want. I am always here to bully him.

Otherwise he can still be a little flirty for a while longer but I feel like we're closing in on the end of those days the closer he gets to realizing his feelings (which will also inevitably bring in a period of "hey I don't want to be having sex with ANYONE actually" much like canon).

Fellow lilies are also free to realize he's been absent from their barracks if they want, and hydrangeas being like "damn dude you're like here ALL the time" is welcome too.

About: Camila is a mercenary of sorts by trade, having served many masters and in many armies across many worlds. There were some whose causes she truly supported, but in the end… it was all in service of her true goal; to find and defeat the only other survivor of the battle where she lost both her eye and squad. Built different. Built excessively. Built to non-standard specifications. Built weird. Enjoys caring for animals, martial training, carpentry, and the occasional bit of cooking.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: In the short term, I want to get Camila more involved in the wider population of Rosavelle. I intend to get her a medium house (small would just be cruel) to move into. I’ll also be running some imprintwork threads as I catch up on her learning that. As a result of all this, she’ll both furnish her own dwelling and start operating a small carpentry shop out of it. Between this and her ongoing training in both combat and magic, I'm hoping she can make some more friends.

Longer term, she’s going to be increasingly concerned. Part of the magic that propels her between worlds has kept her from seeing a summer in a long time, and she doesn’t know for certain if it will snatch her away from Rosavelle before she’s ready. Only the strength of her bonds can change the path ahead of her.

Now has once again resolved to rescue her daughter from the gameworld and return to her son using the Elementalism she's learning here... though she won't say no to being treated like a princess, or riding to the gallant rescue of a damsel deeply distressed.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes:
She's found that she likes teaching the Nerima Wrecking crew how to fight and cast spells and so will consider doing childcare and also starting a dojo to teach her style of sword, board, and spellcraft to the other counselors.

Also she is bound and determined to show a horse some love and kindness until it lets someone ride her, preferably Alesha, but honestly just stopping her from being sad will be enough.

I do want to meet more people from the modern day for her to talk shop and about her kids with, and also for her to meet other fantasy and isekai weirdoes to bitch about how there is always some wizard or another who thinks what the world needs is more slimes and owlbears.

About: you know, like, da devil from da bible. eggy quiet trans girl in denial goes through religious trauma until she accepts that she's the devil, at which point she is suddenly much less eggy, much less quiet, and much less corporeal than before. usually, she does this with the help of two queer friends who are also awful and religiously traumatized, who ALSO become the devil. it's about growing up queer in the american midwest in bible camp, and also how summer camp is literally the worst forever.

ANYWAY since she's hatched in-game now, she's mostly spending her time... doing completely normal stuff. trying new things out, figuring out what clothes would look nice on her, smooching a girl or two, and cuddling shirtless with a hunky vampire. (it's not a sex thing.) (somehow???)

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: after a VERY eventful arrival month or two, she's mostly trying to just... unwind a bit. relax and get to be a normal person for once (insofar as a floating mass of light and eyes and wings can be a normal person). she'll be trying to start figuring out bloomcraft and her own garden plot and things like that soon, so even if she's a little behind everyone be sure to welcome her!!

she's also in a bit of an odd space on the relationships front? she's hooking up with march 7, who insists that's just a thing friends do, and she's also got the world's most obvious crush on astarion, who is sort of de facto living in her room. and also sucking her blood regularly. it's fine! it's normal for girls. don't worry about it.

in terms of cr i'm looking for, some ideas i'm excited for are:

- bullying her over her obvious crush! (or the even more obvious hookups!)
- people who can help enable her into doing Devilish Things. you know. like lashing out at god's perfect heaven, or doing Bad Things for Bad Girls, or maybe offering unconditional help without expectation of return?? she's so good at this evil thing you guys. if you just agree with her that she's the devil and the worst, you're already on her good side

Character Name: Hayden Sorrows Canon: Chuubo's Marvellous Wish-Granting Engine

About: At first glance, he appears to be another mysterious goth bishōnen who will sweep you off your feet and lead you astray into darkness. Then you notice the tangled mess that his white hair truly is, the dark bags under his dull brown eyes, his jittering limbs and twitchy fingers and darting glance. And then he opens his mouth, and you hear how much of a dweeb he really is.

Don't be mistaken, however. He really is magical and dark and brooding. He was molded and groomed from a very young age to learn the magic of dreams. He left the world of Hope and comfort behind to learn at the Bleak Academy how to become a world-ending wizard. He is a dark bodhisattva of sorts, a void made flesh, a Rider on a pale horse from the lands of death, come to save all worlds from the agony and suffering of existence. He is also nervous, needy, insecure, and deeply lonely. He may preach the gospel of the Bleak and tell you that life and love and the work of the world are futile and meaningless, but he doesn't quite believe it himself. A part of his old morality and humanity stubbornly clings to him, and hopes his nihilism can be proven wrong.

Short Term & Future Plans/Wishes: In both his home canon and this rp, Hayden is meant to be a philosophical antagonist to the cheery setting, but also a friendly face who can make the peace of oblivion seem appealing, and a troubled soul one could possibly fix. Thus, I'm mostly looking for Hayden to meet up with fellow characters who are willing to engage with his philosophy; whether that means hearing out his nihilistic message, fighting to prove him wrong, or anything in between is up in the air, but I would probably prefer a mix across the spectrum. But while it is my ultimate intention for Rosavelle to reach Hayden's heart and ultimately redeem him, I do need it to be an arc, so anybody who wants to get tempted or psychologically fucked up (if only temporarily) by him or try to "fix" a wicked character is encouraged to do so.

On a lighter note, Hayden is a newer arrival, so he's gonna be super disoriented. He's also an egghead scholar obsessed with metaphysics, so he'll want to learn as much about this world as possible. He'll be hanging around libraries and schools a lot, and quite possibly attempting to pick up Bibliomancy (which he may attempt to use to create mind-bending treatises on the falseness of the world until the Everbloom smacks him upside the head). He can also haunt your dreams (even violating linear time), copy your powers, and physically extract your Confusion to control your mind, so, use those powers as you will.

Anything Else?: A few notes on "Excrucian chic," the preferred aesthetic of the Bleak Academy and other Riders from beyond existence (source, Glitch: A Story of the Not by Jenna Moran pg. 19)

Traditional Excrucian style is predominantly black, with silver, crimson, purple, and white as traditional accents. Dramatic coats are favored. Slacks and ankle-length skirts are preferred, although jeans and shorter skirts are acceptable—particularly if they’re distressed. Boots are the norm. Silver jewelry and black nail polish are preferred. The three most common overall looks are “strikingly military,” “this person just walked off of a fashion runway and came straight here,” and “layers on layers of thin, torn, ragged clothing, but no real skin’s showing because the holes don’t align.”

...In speech, Excrucians are florid. They’ve been known to open conversations with extended monologues on the composition of the soul. They love ornate, dramatic turns of phrase, and find casual reticence nearly ... painful. At their best, they are orators and rhetoricians; at their worst, most of what they say can be ridiculous.
