Curious about what characters might be a good fit here or just need a little push to make up your mind? The EMP meme is a low-pressure space to put your feelers out. This is where you can share which characters you're considering, whether they're strong contenders or just a "maybe if someone twists my arm."

Character Name: Yoosung Kim (he/him)
Canon: Mystic Messenger
Age & Romance Preferences: 20 (Western) / 21 (Korean). M/F is probably his immediate thought but I lean slightly toward M/M. Probably be open to either in game though!
About:
Sweet and adorable video game addict, puppy energy, ridiculously naive/innocent. Goes to college but has been lacking motivation to study so his grades are failing, doesn't help that he's up at all hours playing MMORPGs, usually tanking because he loves helping people and doesn't mind being hurt. Even in real life, he brushes off injuries, and his friends tease him about being a masochist (he has no idea what that means). He falls in love rather easily when given attention, and he will absolutely idolize the ever-loving shit out of whoever he falls for. Actually pretty depressed and anxious about his future, but he often hides it with an almost childishly playful attitude.
Potential Plans: Nothing specific, just playing this boy is an absolute joy. I would love for shipping to happen but understand that's not guaranteed, so I'm cool if it doesn't. Friends are great and he will love them, and unrequited crushes are possible too. He is incredibly shippable though and gets along with almost any personality type.

I think finding a purpose here would help ease his anxiety a lot, since it's mostly about feeling adrift and without any purpose. I'd love to see them interact, though I too am canon-blind.
he does lock in very intensely!! ...on one video game in particular and that's mostly it. BUT. he likely won't have that available to him here. which is a good thing. even if he'll likely whine about it at first LOL

i think that's the beauty of DWRP is tossing two characters, only one of which you know, and seeing what happens. studying specimens for science. i, for one, would love to see this Gamer. i hope he can cope without doing his dailies

also wtf that's such a sweet thing to say about discovering through my writing??? I will certainly do my best!! sometimes the things he says while online chatting is So Much and occasionally Weird so I worry about annoying ppl with it LOL
oh he is absolutely gonna go into MMORPG withdrawal for a while and be whiny about it. like, absolutely pouting, maybe some tears. but it will be good for him long-term and once he's got like a Mission or something to motivate him he'll be 1000% devoted to that!
but yes I'll be interested in learning more about your boy too. aaaand I recently got back into icon-making so if you have screencaps, honestly, feel free to shoot them to me if you'd like and I can try to knock out some decent ones? I KNOW how difficult it can be finding stuff for older animes and canons, I've got some older ones in my roster too.

Ranma can relate immensely with having zero motivation to study (academically. now if it's martial arts related he locks TF in) and brushing off injuries, and having a childishly playful attitude, so I'd def love to see how CR between these two go

He is an expert is all things pertaining to relationships (he is not) and will certainly not make things worse for the poor guy. Eiden actually has some pretty insightful advice at his disposal and is good at getting a read on people. Yoosung Kim has the type of personality that is wholly genuine, and he would want to protect that/him.
